This is a deliberately minimal endless runner: a single character moving automatically to the right, a steady stream of obstacles approaching from the far side of the screen, and exactly one action available to you at any moment — jump. There's no second button, no power-ups to manage, and no branching path to plan around. The entire game is a continuous test of one thing: whether you can time a single tap correctly, over and over, as the pace keeps quietly increasing.
Why the endless-runner format became so widespread
The endless runner as a genre took off in a major way alongside the rise of touchscreen mobile gaming, largely because its one-input control scheme mapped perfectly onto a single tap or click, with nothing else required to fully play the game. That constraint, which might sound limiting, turned out to be exactly what made the format so replayable — there's no learning curve beyond understanding that you need to jump, which means the entire skill ceiling is about timing precision rather than memorizing controls, and a first-time player and a hundredth-time player are working with exactly the same toolkit.
How to play this version
Press start and your character begins running automatically along the ground. Obstacles appear from the right edge of the screen at irregular intervals and move steadily toward you; press space, click, or tap the game area to jump over one as it approaches. Colliding with any obstacle ends the run immediately, and your score — based on how long you survived, converted into a simple number — is compared against your personal best, saved locally so you always know exactly what run you're trying to beat. The pace of incoming obstacles increases gradually and continuously the longer you survive, so there's no fixed endpoint to reach; the game only ever gets harder, never easier, for as long as you keep going.
Where the real difficulty comes from
Unlike games that get harder by adding new mechanics or enemy types, this format increases difficulty using only speed — the same single obstacle type just keeps arriving faster and with less warning time between it and the last one. That design choice matters because it isolates one specific skill almost perfectly: your reaction window, the amount of time between when an obstacle becomes visible and when you need to have already jumped.
